I want to have an open dialogue. I'm trying to spend more time talking to the people around me.

I have these instincts telling me not to tell my dad things, and rightfully so. I told him something he was quiet & critical about yesterday. As if I had to tell him. I am reminded of him trying to underhand my trip to East Africa. In the end it was only because of him I could go..

Anyway, I should be reminded that this mistrust I have of my dad is valid. There's no way he can keep this to himself.

I've been reading too many Matador Nights. I can relate very well. I need to go be an uncomfortable stranger somewhere. I might be tricking myself into something.

Over thinking. I am a self-indulgent mess on this day. Getting things done, always the wrong things. Always sorting things out. Today is my Sunday. Hopefully I actually get productive.

If she asks just tell her that I'm too far gone to deal. She should know exactly how that feels.

I have a heart. Is it a bleeding heart? I couldn't deal with some things every day. Everyone needs something to cope. I had been thinking about how downtrodden my weekend was -except Friday, oh marvelous friday- till I got this message at some point during the night:

It's hard to describe how I feel. I am just in downtime mode. I am not getting things done. I am surprised I went in the hottub since I was in the pool already today and stink of it.

It's starting to get kinda dusky & it's my job to give out candy so I should get on that soon. Last night was the ressurrected Skalloween at the WECC. Got into the Afterbeat, Greg Crowe & The Scarlet Union plus Subcity Dwellers. Danced! With Jess, Franke, Keeley & her friends Derek & Sarah. The Scarlet Inion were all in Addam's Family attire (Wednesday, Pugsley, Gomez, Morticia, Thing and Greg Crowe as Uncle Fester.) Anyway we had a delightful time. Keeley ended up going to Flogging Molly.

Anyway I should get ready. Needless to say we got drunk. I was double fisting rum & cokes & drinking the blood of mortals. We may have tped something, but that's still up for debate. We stayed up a really long time talking. Till 5:40. I got up & biked to work at 8:20. I can't remember how much time that is.

I taught for 2 1/2 hours, changed quick, biked to Pan Am in like 15 minutes (max 20), changed into costume & coached for a couple hours. My feet were aching. I screwed up entries at the swim meet & it's probably my fault. No one was looking forward to it more than me. Anyway, I was crushed about that. Biked home. Had pizza. Down time is inbetween time.

I've been Flinstoning the brakes on my bike the last little while. The temp is dropping. I can feel the snow coming. Not much more time. I think my back tire is flat. Shit. I have to rethink tonight's whole strategy. And wardrobe.

I got a call this morning about 20 minutes before I got out of the water. From the number +3908311830000.This call is essentially telling me to hurry up & activate my voice messaging. Hmmm. I hope they call back whoever they are.

I also have 2 stories about how Landu called & woke me up Thursday morning, and how Kev has been texting me trying to get me to come to Israel. "We're all waiting for you!" He makes them sound undead in true Halloween fashion.

Talked to Candice yesterday about Israel & Halloween & riding the bike in the rain...

Ah fuck. Riding in the rain. I'm not so opposed to riding in the rain, but I just hate being wet. Yesterday was marvelous after work when it had stopped raining & I could wheel home freely. On a related note, The Hold Steady keep me warm in the cold rain.

Made to class today. Turns out I've skipped like 3 weeks straight. Minus that exam I did last week, on which I did as well as could be expected. After Research Methods class I had a good discussion with the teacher & one of the students just a cool jam session. I had two great stories I wanted to share. "I wasn't watching anything, I was just staring at the wall..." Right now I'm at Ty's in his housecoat while the boys are in the kitchen doing what sounds like dishes.

Almost time for Halloween! Skalloween tomorrow!

When I'm not busy I'm bored. I woke up this morning from a call from Landu in french. I thought it was work... I almost didn't answer... It took me a minute simply to realize the call was in french. I thought it was just some thick accent...

Listening to John K Samson's City Route 85. The Heart of the Continent, Grace General & Cruise Night. I... Wow. Yes. I can't decide which one to play on my show.

Today is 6 months till my birthday.

Concert reviews always break my heart. I should have done it sooner, but I couldn't bear to get familiar with Flogging Molly now. I still regret not going to shows that were 4 years ago. Eugene says he danced. What did I expect? Skalloween this weekend. Nomeansno on Saturday. Halloween.

Global concept. Canada and the US are the only two countries that have Halloween.

Fucking hell Frank Turner (this cool punk/folk singer I missed due to work before Gaslight Anthem): Fucking hell Winnipeg. So much for a day off. Ended up playing an impromptu gig in a bar and getting shit-faced with Off With Their Heads.

Facebook & Gmail load faster on my computer than the saintjamesseals website. Which says alot. At least they load at all.

I'm always here for conversation. You aren't. I just need you to start it up. Express an interest.

Listening to the same things over & over. I could memorize more words from this album. Brand New on shuffle.

Time to go home for a couple hours. I think.

Tonight is Metric at the Burt & Dan Mangan at the Lo Pub. With all the hype, I know where Eugene will be. Also, I wish I was going to Metric. Fantasies is so good.

Got my meet entries in today no problem! Staying at Ty's, meditating on the internet awhile. It's got me buzzed. Speaking of buzzed, what a great time last night!

I'm looking overseas. Checking the weather. An offhand comment in either direction is hard to avoid.

Work was dull today. Pool fouling - hyperchlorination. Dry lessons, dry humour, dry day. Kings of A&R aren't recommending me anything spectacular. New Motion City Soundtrack is okay, new A Wilhelm Scream is both really fucking good and nothing at all, and new Lawrence Arms is either too produced or too poppy or not fast enough. And I'm getting no emails. Wrong time of day.

Ah I had to delete everything I've worked for.

Forget about the last week. What happened? Nothing happened? Well, here's what happened.

Been hanging out with mom all week. So, didn't get much done. Baked cookies with her & V out in EK Friday night. Opted out of the tequila retirement party for Laura. Baked cookies instead. And pizza. Yum!

Saturday means working in the AM, the Sharks being away in Brandon so I could leave early for the, Bomber game against the Alouettes. 41-24 final score for us! Hooray! Celebration! Al's birthday on this day. 26. Dad bought him & his pals pizza & beer. Spent the rest of the evening with mom, going through my pictures & telling stories. Feels like I've been blowing into a balloon, talking so much. Stretching those facial chords. The end of the works week rags on my voice, but it turns out I'm not sick & fine as usual. Spent the night at Ty's, but the evening with my mom watching Fun With Dick & Jane, Win A Date With Tad Hamilton & The Housesitter. We are all caught up now. We're planning a trip to New Orleans.

Sunday was a day with Ty. Both my parents flew the coop. My mom roadtripping back to SK & my dad flying east to Toronto for a couple days. Spent the day with Ty. Sometimes laying in bed, sometimes shopping for my birthday present, but not much else. Had an awesome conversation with Ian I can't indulge for you except maybe if you press me. Excellent show with Kara, duking it out. We tied, which is retarded. But we'll do it better next time. To Ty's parents' for veggie lasagna & skyline for dessert.

Right now I'm doing all sorts of things while I should be doing many more things.

As usual.

Arabic exam went alright today. I think I did okay, My comprehension is getting better. We're moving onto the next textbook. It's thicker. Drat.
